Every movement in the fashion industry has its key moments in history. One of the timeless category we know is graphic printing and believe it or not it goes way back to 15,000 – 10,000 BC when the first known visual communication, with pictographs and symbols in the Lascaux caves in southern France were discovered.
Throughout history we have seen the fascinating changes in graphic printing, from the first paper mill created in Italy in 1276 to the first Caslon Old Style font developed, later used for the printing of the Declaration of Independence in 1722 and afterward the Development of halftone screen allowing for first photo printing with a full range of tones in 1880. Today graphic printing is madness with a wide range of techniques, colors and styles.
In a positive way speaking it’s been a graphic zoo with each and every one of our wild designs here at G-Stage, lions, tigers, bears, oh my…. as Dorothy would say in the land of OZ.
